The standard among the corporate chains is minimum wage. They also require you to be 18, have 2 years driving experience, and have a clean driving record. They also pay some kind of drive pay, but depending on the price of gas and the distance of the delivery it may not pay for it all. You do make tips, but sometimes they're good and sometimes they suck. Luck of the draw. If you do apply for a delivery job, avoid stores that primarily deliver to the ghetto areas. Tips will definitely suck most of the time then. You want to avoid areas that are full of rednecks too. Look for stores that primarily deliver to middle class neighborhoods. High end neighborhoods are ok too but they don't order as often and some are trying to hard to live beyond their means to tip well. How much do delivery boys make?
Just getting a car? Careful!!! Driver's out there are notorious for being reckless when they see a delivery driver. There are so many obstacles in your way as a young driver. I owuld stay at BK for awhile, then graduate to the driving job much later. The worse the weather, the more people order for delivery, so you will be driving in rain, ice, etc. a lot more than you will want or need to as a new driver. How much do delivery boys make?
they will probably start you at minimum wage, but if you preform well it should go up fairly soon. but even at minimum, with tips on very busy nights you can reach as high as $15 an hour. They usually pay mileage for gas.
Yes-delivery people make tips-BUT not everyone tips--and sometimes there are dangers involved--and you should take into cnsideration the price of gas.....I would thnk long and hard about it first.....and Yes-sometimes you just make a commision and then tips
