If you order food for delivery and they are already charging you the delivery, should you still tip?

I ordered chinese food and it was my 1st time ordering from this place. Very pricey but was told the f ood was good. The delivery fee was $3.00 so when the food came i gave the guy $2.00 well he was shaking his head and saying, "that's it, no more money for me?", and walked away shaking his head saying the same thing. Mind you I had the food delivered to myplace of business and my customers were there. he kept yelling saying that his boss didnt pay him.



I called the place and let them know how rude and disrespectful their driver was and all she said was "ok, i talk with him ok, thank you... i talk"

I tip but they aren't supposed to demand a tip or act like that guy did. That is rude and disrespectful. You did the right thing in reporting him because if they want more business, they need to give good service no matter what. The more business they get, the more tips their drivers will get.
That delivery fee has nothing to do with his tip. The delivery fee might go to the restaurant for all you know. Food delivery people ALWAYS get tipped, so you were in the wrong not to tip. Obviously, he shouldn't have spoken to you the way he did, but you should have tipped him.

I usually give a tip. I know people who have worked doing deliveries for restaurants and, like waitstaff, they get paid significantly less. They rely on tips. However, if I had someone so rude as to try to get more money out of me, I would take back my tip and never tip that specific person again.

In the case you are absolutely wrong. The delivery fee does not go the drivers. The drivers make most of their money through the tips.
