First of all, that's pretty ****** up. It's one thing to prank call, but to prank call and have them MAKE food that they're gonna have to throw away--or at least not get profit from? That's a waste of food and time. And I feel bad for that Chinese restaurant. Don't do it again please, it's silly. I know you're 13 (and trust me, when I was 13 i LOOOVED prank calling) but don't do that kinda thing to an innocent person to make them go out of their way for nothing----what did they do to you? So if you're gonna prank call, keep it to friends and family and just mess around with them. Don't let it get serious. Anywho, No, I don't think you'll have anything to worry about. All you ordered was chow mein, not a $30 meal. Just don't do that thing again, because you definitely CAN get in trouble with the law. Haven't you ever heard of *67 ? Or is that just in the United States?
Prank phone calls can be considered to constitute phone harassment, which is illegal and actionable. Obscenities are not necessarily on of the defining characteristics of a harassing phone call. Your call is easily traceable.
In addition, if the restaurant prepares the food, and has it waiting for someone who never comes you have cost them money in both labor and goods. Essentially you have stolen from them and reduced their ability to make a profit with which they can support themselves. You might say "Well, we did it only once." Consider the results if the restaurant that makes a policy change on how they handle phone orders because of your actions that makes it just a little harder for the customers to order and pick-up. They might lose customers and their profits. They might have to close, causing people to lose their jobs.
As you are claiming to be 13, you are likely laughing at this answer. Please remember that there are always consequences to your actions. YOU may not feel the repercussions, which is unfortunate, but someone else might.
Try to think about the other people potentially involved when you decide to do something stupid before you do it.My friend prank called a Chinese and ordered a chow mein to collect?
hah. I used to love prank calling. Nothing will happen to you sweetheart. It was all in good fun and they probably won't even bother to track you down it probably happens to them consistently.
Saw this on unfriendable! :P
You might, it's illegal and really rude.My friend prank called a Chinese and ordered a chow mein to collect?
If you used a Land-Line phone they might track you down. Some restaurants will actually press charges. use a cellphone :P
