Thank You all.
1)Why is hip ultrasound important?
The hip ultrasound shows the shape of the hip (allows us to "see" how the joint is made )
All children undergo a clinical examination which may identify signs of disease; however only in severe cases diagnosis is possible by clinical examination only.
2)How is hip ultrasound performed?
The parent places the baby on the changing table and undresses the child "from the waist-down," removing also the diaper.
3)The doctor asks:
a) Is it the first hip ultrasound?
b) Does someone have hip problems in the family?
c) Was the delivery normal?
4)The child is placed on the cradle by the parent; the doctor performs the ultrasound examination; the parent helps the doctor by placing a hand on the child's shoulder
The child is taken back by the doctor to the changing table for the clinical examination.
Then the parent dresses the baby
