What is the appropriate percentage to tip?

server in a buffet restaurant...

hairdresser...

pizza/ sandwich/ chinese delivery guy...What is the appropriate percentage to tip?
in a restaurant tip 15-20%

other places just give as much as you think including these two factors:

how good the service was and how much you can afford
10%What is the appropriate percentage to tip?
i just use 15% if the service is descent
The general rule of thimb is 10%. Mostly though it depends on the person being served and their personal standards. Some people tip less than that or not at all and some people (like myself) generally tip a little more than 10%. I personally look at how well the service is and then go from there. Most of the time i will give about 12-15% but if the service sucks then I will give a lot less or, worst case scenario, I don't give anything at all which I will go to the manager and inform them of the crappy service. What is the appropriate percentage to tip?
Generally, 15%. However, I wouldn't tip more than 10% to anyone who isn't providing an actual service, such as your buffet server. Fine dining and more affluent establishment deserve between 20 and 25%. If you're extremely happy with the service, on top of your tip tell the person how you felt, and advise them that you'll be telling other people about it. Write "thank you very much!" on a napkin and leave it in the payment tray. It'll make your servers day!

If you are upset about the service, don't leave a small tip. It is better to voice your concerns, and when they are addressed, then tip the proper amount. If they are not addressed, then feel free to skip the tip.

- @
pizza- $3

dinner 20%

barber $3

bartender $1 per drink or 20% on tab
server in a buffet restaurant (doesnt really serve you, you serve yourself) 5%

hair dresser 20%

delivery guy 10 -15%
Knowing that most service workers receive bery small salaries, much less than minimum wage, I always tip at least 10%., but most often 15% to restaurant workers.

Recently while in Las Vegas, a local TV show advised that bell boys, cab drivers, and others who help you get around town, should be tipped three to five dollars per service, because they are not salaried.
The tip s usually 15-20% for a waiter/waiteress.

a couple bucks for everyone else
servers and people that deliver - 15% of the bill

hairdressers - 10 - 15% (and you don't have to tip if it is the owner of the salon)
15-20%, but I always tip about 40% because I used to work in a restaraunt and I understand how hard it is to pay the bills with bad tips...tip well!
about 15-20% if the waiter or waitress is good really it just adds to how u think they serve u........but for pizza or barber just a couple dollars
I will still give 15% at a buffet while giving 20% if we order off of the menu.

My hairdresser gets 5-10 bucks flat rate

Delivery usually 15 - 20 % from us.
Buffet server - nothing

Hairdresser - I give $10

Delivery guy - never used this service
Don't tip. Tipping is helping employers pay their employees badly.
