How much are you supposed to tip a Delivery Guy?

Yesterday I ordered Chinese Take out and I had no clue how much to tip the delivery guy! Is it the same as if you were at a Restaurant? I order about 40$ worth of food, and tipped the guy 5$. Was that too much? Or Too little? Thanks. How much are you supposed to tip a Delivery Guy?
It doesn't really matter how much you order. I mean, the guy is going to drive to your house whether you order one thing or fifty things.

I always tip $3 - $5 depending on their punctuality (if they specified how long it should take, then how well did they stick to that?) and their politeness when they deliver my food.
seems like a generous amount, i wouldn't do anymore than that, but usually a couple bucks should sufficeHow much are you supposed to tip a Delivery Guy?
I usually tip like $3-5 depending on how much I order
I think that seems about right. I always tip $3.00 even on small packages, if they have to carry a lot of things I'll tip $5.00.How much are you supposed to tip a Delivery Guy?
wow , can i deliver chinese take out to your home? I think you over payed a bit but it was a nice gesture since they are very poor people and need the money. If the person was polite and got the food there on time then i guess it was worth it. I usually get these bums that deliver pizza and they just stand there ,with their earrings in one ear and tattoos all over the arms, and when i go to the door they stand there and just give me the price. I say ok hang on a second and they give me this huge sigh, like i am putting them out . I have also had some delivery people that come to the door and have their boyfriends or girlfriends in the vehicle waiting on them so they are in a hurry and i just write out my check as slowly as i can just to wart them. That is rude on both of their parts . I usually give them 2$ and that is about all i can afford , the price of pizzas are way overpriced anyway.
well i would just give him the normal - 15%. so on a 40 dollar meal it would be 6 dollars. my friend used to just double the tax. maybe it is different with delivery people; maybe you give them less?
you did right
15% for normal service, more during rain, snow or other poor weather.

Have a polite day.
